About The Position

This role is responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Graton Resort & Casino culture and Service Standards. The Bartender will prepare and pour drinks, maintain a clean and stocked bar, and deliver food and beverage items to guests. They will also manage time effectively, communicate with guests and team members, and ensure all health and safety regulations are followed. The position requires knowledge of POS systems, cash handling procedures, and responsible alcohol service.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • 1 year prior experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a high volume environment while maintaining proper portion control, safety, health and service standards.
  • Must have cash handling experience; responsible for all transactions in a Casino environment.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must be willing and able to participate in on-going training.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to follow all safety policies and Graton Resort & Casino's standard procedures.
  • Must be able to obtain a Gaming Registration, Non-Gaming Card, Health Card and Responsible Beverage Service State Cerification.
  • Must keep all current required work cards on your person during your shift.
  • Serve alcohol responsibly in accordance with Responsible Beverage Service Training.
  • Practice the 10/5 rule consistency with internal and external Guests.
  • Must manage time effectively with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Practice, support, and promote Graton Resort & Casino culture and Service Standards.
  • Know the types of classes (i.e. well, call, premium, ultra & specialty) and brand names of products offered, and be familiar with acceptable alternatives.
  • Prepare and pour drinks in a timely manner, passing Company testing and standards for free pouring, using a jigger and gun.
  • Perform proper shaking standards.
  • Have a thorough understanding of all drink recipes and their preparation and garnishment, using appropriate glassware.
  • Maintain a clean, properly stocked, and organized bar, lounge, dining area, and side station.
  • Verify par levels for products and equipment needs at the beginning of each shift and report shortages.
  • Be approachable to guests, anticipate their needs, and check on them regularly.
  • Deliver all food and beverage items to guests in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Inform manager on duty of any Team Member or Guest opportunities.
  • Know Company Safety procedures and emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed and maintain bar cleanliness.
  • Operate all applicable InfoGenesis P.O.S. screens and handle Company funds through cash transactions.
  • Maintain accurate and proper cash handling procedures, ensuring no co-mingling of funds.
  • Act in a manner that reflects a positive, professional image.
  • Handle chemicals for the glass washing machine safely and know the location of the MSDS booklet.
  • Be responsible and accountable for all cash variances +/‐ $10.00.
  • Verify all liquor deliveries, compare the form against the product received, and note any discrepancies.
  • Run and comply with all closing reports and procedures at the end of shift.
  • Answer guest questions and be familiar with all menu items within their outlet.
  • Practice service standards and appropriate sequence of service for food and beverage service.
  • Maintain personal grooming and uniform standards.
  • Maintain proper flow of beverage service to Beverage Servers.
  • Hold all applicable work cards for the Bartender position and carry them during shift.
  • Act responsibly in accordance with health and alcohol training.
  • Work closely and as a team with other departments.
  • Be knowledgeable of all property events, promotions, and attractions.
  • Adhere to all Company and department policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and demonstrate teamwork to Team Members.
