About The Position

The Service Associate II provides services as part of the patient care team. This role involves performing heavier cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods. Responsibilities include dusting and wet mopping floors, scrubbing or buffing floors, vacuuming, shampooing, and extracting carpets, and stripping and refinishing hard surface floors. The role also includes transporting and disposing of waste, terminal cleaning of various areas such as induction units, light fixtures, windows, ORs, and invasive/special procedure rooms. The Service Associate II assumes supervisory responsibility in the absence of the Supervisor, assists with emergency spills, maintains and recommends repairs for assigned equipment, and observes and reports the general need for repairs to building fixtures. In emergency situations like fire or disaster, the role assists in evacuating patients and making up extra beds. Primary responsibilities also include all aspects of a Service Associate I. Essential Role Responsibilities include performing heavier cleaning functions, adhering to the Seven Steps of Cleaning, cleaning common areas, bathrooms, and other areas as needed, ensuring cleanliness and neat appearance of assigned areas, maintaining and replenishing dispensers, complying with Hazcom Program, proper trash and soiled linen disposal, disinfecting isolation/precaution areas, following guidelines for chemical and equipment use, and keeping supply closets and housekeeping carts clean and supplied.

Requirements

High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
Ability to read, write and understand English or in process.

Responsibilities

Perform heavier cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods.
Dust and wet mop floors.
Scrub or buff floors with appropriate equipment.
Vacuum, shampoo, and extract carpets for cleaning and bacteria control with industrial vacuum.
Strip and refinish hard surface floors.
Transport waste from utility rooms and other collection points and dispose of waste by sterilization and/or placement in holding area.
Terminal clean induction units, light fixtures and windows.
Terminal clean OR, Invasive and Special Procedure rooms as needed.
Assumes Supervisory responsibility in the absence of the Supervisor.
Assist in cleaning of emergency spills wen observed or upon request.
Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and recommends repairs as needed.
Observe and report the general need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures.
In case of fire or other internal disaster, assist in evacuating ambulatory patients and residents to exits.
In case of community disaster, assists nursing in making up extra beds and other duties as assigned.
Perform all other tasks which may be assigned.
Adheres to the Seven Steps of Cleaning, cleans all common areas bathrooms, and other areas as needed.
Ensures cleanliness and neat appearance of assigned areas in allotted time frame adhering to established standards.
Maintains and replenishes all soap, towel, and tissue dispensers.
Complies with Hazcom Program, trash and soiled linen removed and placed in proper container, baskets cleaned and lined with fresh liners.
Follows proper procedures for disinfecting of isolation/precaution areas with no deviation of procedures.
Follows guidelines for proper use of chemicals and equipment.
ESD supply/storage closet/Housekeeping cart kept cleaned and supplied in a timely manner.
