The Service Associate II provides services as part of the patient care team. This role involves performing heavier cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods. Responsibilities include dusting and wet mopping floors, scrubbing or buffing floors, vacuuming, shampooing, and extracting carpets, and stripping and refinishing hard surface floors. The role also includes transporting and disposing of waste, terminal cleaning of various areas such as induction units, light fixtures, windows, ORs, and invasive/special procedure rooms. The Service Associate II assumes supervisory responsibility in the absence of the Supervisor, assists with emergency spills, maintains and recommends repairs for assigned equipment, and observes and reports the general need for repairs to building fixtures. In emergency situations like fire or disaster, the role assists in evacuating patients and making up extra beds. Primary responsibilities also include all aspects of a Service Associate I. Essential Role Responsibilities include performing heavier cleaning functions, adhering to the Seven Steps of Cleaning, cleaning common areas, bathrooms, and other areas as needed, ensuring cleanliness and neat appearance of assigned areas, maintaining and replenishing dispensers, complying with Hazcom Program, proper trash and soiled linen disposal, disinfecting isolation/precaution areas, following guidelines for chemical and equipment use, and keeping supply closets and housekeeping carts clean and supplied.
