About The Position

The Service Associate II EVS is responsible for performing cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods. This role involves maintaining cleanliness, assisting with spills, reporting maintenance needs, and ensuring good patient relations. The associate will demonstrate knowledge of proper cleaning chemicals and procedures, especially for isolation or contaminated rooms, and will use Universal Precautions when handling bodily fluids.

Demonstrates knowledge of proper use of cleaning chemicals.
Follows specific instructions and procedures in cleaning of isolation or contaminated rooms and areas.
Uses Universal (standard) Precautions in all contact with patients blood and body fluids.

Responsibilities

Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods.
Dry mops floors and vacuums baseboards.
Damp mop floors where needed.
Keeps storage closets, cleaning carts clean and orderly.
Demonstrates proper use of wall washing equipment.
Assist in cleaning emergency spills.
Observes and reports the need for maintenance repairs in their assigned areas.
Establishes and maintains good patient relations and reports patient requests to nursing personnel.
Willingly performs tasks assigned by Supervisor/Director.
Demonstrates knowledge of proper use of cleaning chemicals.
Follows specific instructions and procedures in cleaning of isolation or contaminated rooms and areas.
Cleans isolation rooms as needed.
Uses Universal (standard) Precautions in all contact with patients blood and body fluids.
