This role involves conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations, while wearing proper personal protective equipment. The apprentice will attend and successfully complete required tasks and technician training classes in the apprenticeship program. A minimum set of tools, as defined by the Apprenticeship Program, must be maintained to diagnose, disassemble, and assemble machine components to manufacturer’s specifications. The apprentice will perform basic equipment repair functions including maintenance, diagnostics, and removal/replacement of parts and major components with support from a designated mentor. Work will be performed in the assigned area under the direct guidance of a qualified technician in a neat and orderly fashion, with a constant effort to improve work methods, the work area, and safety standards. Required documentation will be completed utilizing appropriate software to document repairs performed on equipment and account for repair times. Apprenticeship program documentation will be submitted to the mentor and supervisor as required. The role requires approaching work in a positive manner and maintaining conduct supportive of the work team, contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks on time while maintaining safety and quality expectations. Assistance will be provided in maintaining the facility by following proper contamination control guidelines, including housecleaning, and performing other general maintenance duties.
