About The Position

Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, TEC Equipment operates over 30 locations across Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Arizona, Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. The company specializes in heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks (Mack, Volvo, Hino, Isuzu), Stoughton trailers, and Cottrell auto transport trailers, offering new and used vehicle sales. TEC provides a full suite of services including quality parts, state-of-the-art service, collision centers, fuel, leasing/rental, financing, and insurance, and is an authorized service center for major brands like Mack, Volvo, Cummins, Meritor, Eaton, and Fuller. The Service Department is seeking an entry-level Service Advisor to act as a liaison between customers and the shop. This role involves utilizing documentation and communication skills to manage work orders and facilitate the proper and timely repair of customer's equipment, offering a great opportunity for career growth and training.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to have compassion for our customers and work well with a wide range of personalities and emotional states.
  • Excellent communication skills - oral and written (frequent and detailed documentation is required in this position).
  • Mechanical inclination and attention to detail, proficiency with data entry and computer skills.
  • Commitment to complete Service Advisor training.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Compete inspections of customer equipment, document information, and use inspection sheet to document thorough information about the vehicle’s service needs.
  • Understand the work that needs to be done to the vehicle and address specific customer concerns.
  • Communicate with customer throughout the repair and payment process to create an overall positive experience for our customer.
  • Use the dealer management system to open and manage work orders and ensure efficient work flow and completion of work orders.
  • Answer phones and greet customers with professional and welcoming tone. Provide top notch customer service to all customers (by phone, in person, email, etc).
  • Keep track of status of all trucks in the shop and provide customers with updates according to their preferred method of communication.
