About The Position
Egglefield Ford is looking for a friendly, organized, customer-focused Service Writer to join our Service Department. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, keeping a busy shop running smoothly, and being part of a team that treats customers like neighbors. The dealership has over 100 years of trusted, family-owned service and is located in Elizabethtown, NY.
Requirements
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort with computers and dealership management systems
- A positive attitude and team-first mindset
- Valid driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in automotive service writing preferred, but we will train the right person
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and create a welcoming, professional first impression
- Write repair orders clearly and accurately
- Communicate customer concerns to technicians and relay findings back to customers
- Provide estimates, explain recommended services, and obtain approvals
- Coordinate scheduling, follow-ups, and status updates
- Ensure a smooth flow between the service lane, shop, and customers
- Maintain accurate records and support warranty/recall documentation
- Deliver exceptional customer service every step of the way
