The Service Advisor is responsible for understanding and complying with California Labor Code and all wage and hour laws, including but not limited to compensating employees for all hours worked; providing meal, rest, and recovery periods; and maintenance of accurate time records. They are also responsible for complying with all state and federal laws, including but not limited to equal employment; pay equity; harassment, discrimination, and retaliation; and reasonable accommodations. This role involves greeting customers, directing them to technicians, consulting with technicians on repairs, and using product knowledge to inform customers about parts and service options. The Service Advisor will answer questions about service outcomes, scheduling, and vehicle pick-up/drop-off, and provide advice on warranties, cost savings, and trade-in options. They will manage the dealership's workflow and schedule, call customers about service changes or pick-up times, and maintain positive customer relationships to ensure repeat business. Additionally, they will ensure customers are informed about services rendered and costs, process payments, and act as a liaison between technicians and customers regarding parts ordering. This role requires knowledge and practice of the guidelines in the Bureau of Automotive Repair’s “Write it Right” Manual.
