About The Position

Toyota of North Charleston is seeking driven, enthusiastic individuals to join their Service team as a Service Advisor. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in customer service or sales, and no prior automotive experience is necessary. The company offers incentive-based pay with significant earning potential, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career advancement. The Service department operates Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with Sundays off.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Previous experience in automotive or customer service industries.
  • Working knowledge of the mechanical operations of vehicles.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability and knowledge of the Dealership Management System and other web-based applications utilized for operations.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Selling, identifying, and documenting service, maintenance, and repair services for customers.
  • Scheduling service appointments.
  • Working with customers and technicians to identify required maintenance.
  • Advising customers on necessary and recommended services.
  • Offering additional services and repairs to customers.
  • Computing the cost of replacement parts and labor to restore vehicles to the condition specified by the customer.
  • Estimating the cost of mechanical, electrical, or other repairs.
  • Entering itemized estimates on service orders and explaining them to customers.
  • Meeting dealership standards for repair and order production.
  • Maintaining Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) at or above Company standards.
  • Maintaining an organized, clean, and safe work area.
  • Participating in required training.
  • Accurately recording all hours worked in the company timekeeping system.
  • Following Safeguards rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrating the Company’s Core Values.
  • Complying with Company policies and procedures.
  • Observing all Federal, State, Local, and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
  • Conducting road tests on customer vehicles.
  • Inspecting customer vehicles and frequently moving around the Service Department to convey information between customers and service technicians.
  • Frequently interacting with customers, service managers, service technicians, and employees from various departments in the dealerships.
