About The Position

Briggs Auto Group is looking for a motivated, customer-focused Service Advisor / Service Writer to join their team in Topeka, Kansas. While automotive experience is valuable, it is not required, as the company will train the right person on dealership systems, repair-order processes, maintenance schedules, and manufacturer procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong character, communication skills, and competence. This role serves as the primary connection between customers and the service department, managing customer interactions from greeting to post-service follow-up.

Requirements

  • Good Character: Does the right thing, even when no one is watching. Treats customers and coworkers with honesty and respect. Takes ownership of problems and follows through on commitments. Can be trusted with customer relationships, vehicles, and sensitive information. Brings a dependable, professional attitude to work every day.
  • Good Communication Skills: Listen carefully to customer concerns. Ask the right questions to accurately document vehicle issues. Explain recommended maintenance and repairs in clear, understandable language. Provide timely updates throughout the repair process. Communicate effectively with technicians, parts personnel, managers, and customers. Handle difficult conversations calmly and professionally.
  • Good Competence: Organized and detail-oriented. Comfortable learning new systems and processes. Able to manage multiple customers and repair orders at the same time. Capable of prioritizing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Accountable for accurate documentation and consistent follow-up. Focused on completing tasks correctly—not simply quickly.
