About The Position

The Server role is pivotal in providing exemplary food service, focusing on professionalism and hospitality at Mesa Verde Country Club. Servers are expected to deliver premium service to members and guests, adhering to the Club’s high service standards. This includes a thorough understanding of fine dining, table-side service, menu knowledge, beverage pairing, and efficient use of the POS system for order entry. The Server is responsible for ensuring a memorable dining experience through attentive service, menu expertise, and a commitment to hospitality.

Requirements

  • Ability to engage with members and staff and be especially empathetic to the needs of both constituents; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to meet collective goals.
  • Ensure service areas are well-stocked and presentable.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive menu knowledge, including awareness of ingredients, to assist members with dietary restrictions.
  • Greet members and guests warmly, using names whenever possible, and strive to remember individual preferences.
  • Assist members in selecting food and beverages, providing recommendations based on menu understanding and ingredient knowledge.
  • Accurately record food orders on order slips and input them into the POS system.
  • Monitor the dining area to ensure guest satisfaction and address any issues promptly.
  • Prepare and present checks, processing payments accurately.
  • Participate actively in club events and functions.
  • Complete assigned side work diligently.
  • Commit to ongoing learning and skill enhancement in service provision.
  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and professional appearance.
  • Set up tables with attention to cleanliness and order.
  • Engage with members and colleagues in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Support food preparation staff as needed and collaborate with kitchen and bar staff for smooth service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol service regulations, verifying age when necessary.
  • Manage receipts and daily transactions responsibly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
  • Foster a team atmosphere by assisting coworkers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Food and Beverage Director or Manager.
  • Work scheduled hours, including holidays and weekends, as necessary.
  • Adhere to regular attendance requirements at Mesa Verde Country Club property.
