About The Position

Aspira Stonebridge Crossing Retirement Living is seeking a Server for a Permanent Part-Time position with 45 hours bi-weekly. At Sienna, you will build lasting relationships with residents, knowing each resident by name and story. Requirements

  • Must have Serve It Right (SIRS) certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Must have Food Safe Certificate, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • 1 year experience in dining room service.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
  • Proven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgrounds.
  • Effective verbal and written English communication skills required.
  • You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit.
  • You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serving areas, setting, serving and cleaning tables.
  • Assists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the Chef.
  • Practices and maintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health department.
  • Promotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed procedures.
  • Complies with all provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour ready.
  • Participates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends all education sessions in relation to emergency preparedness.
  • Work in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
