About The Position

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Part-Time Cafe Server; individuals who enjoy providing our guests with the finest food and drink, accompanied by an attentive and positive attitude, for a flagship seminary school in the heart of Alexandria, VA.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
1 or more years of related work experience preferred
Familiarity with state and local laws regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages
Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
ServSafe® and/or RSVP Certification; ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
Prior experience busing tables, catering, or bartending experience within a restaurant, hotel, or conference center operation
Exceptional customer service skills; strong team player
Excellent communication and good organizational skills
Ability to stand/move about for long periods of time and lift 30 lbs
Ability to handle high-volume customers
Reliable Transportation
Ability to work nights and weekends on an on-call basis as needed

Responsibilities

WOW guests and provide an exceptional dining experience
Courteously greet guests, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food, drinks, and service
Relays orders to the service bar and kitchen via the point-of-sale computerized register system
Bus tables, remove dishes and utensils at the end of service
Handle cash and credit card transactions
Perform cleaning tasks and breakdown of service; maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness
Reset dining areas to ensure readiness for incoming guests
Comply with responsible alcohol service guidelines, including serving guests responsibly
