About The Position

The Senior Living Dining Server plays a vital role in creating a warm, welcoming, and respectful dining experience for all residents. This position is responsible for providing caring, patient, and compassionate service to older adults while ensuring every resident enjoys each and every meal served in all dining rooms. The ideal candidate genuinely enjoys working with the elderly, takes pride in hospitality, and understands that mealtime is an important part of residents’ daily quality of life.

Requirements

  • A genuine enjoyment of working with elderly individuals
  • Demonstrated ability to be patient, calm, and compassionate in all interactions
  • Strong customer service or hospitality mindset
  • Ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and empathetically with residents and team members
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct
  • Willingness to follow established service, safety, and sanitation procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or senior living (preferred but not required)
  • Experience interacting with older adults, individuals with disabilities, or memory care residents
  • Knowledge of basic food safety practices (training can be provided)

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, courteous, and compassionate dining service to residents in all community dining rooms
  • Serve meals accurately, safely, and in a timely manner while following all dietary instructions and preferences
  • Demonstrate patience and understanding when interacting with residents, including those with physical, sensory, or cognitive challenges
  • Create a positive dining atmosphere by engaging residents respectfully and assisting as needed during meals
  • Ensure each resident feels welcomed, valued, and comfortable throughout the dining experience
  • Assist residents with menu selections and respond kindly to questions or special requests
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas before, during, and after service
  • Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures at all times
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, supervisors, and team members to ensure smooth meal service
  • Support community standards and contribute to a team-oriented, resident-first culture
