About The Position

Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a friendly, dependable, and service-focused Server to join our culinary team at Hillcrest Shadow Lake in Papillion, NE. This part-time schedule is a great fit for someone looking for consistent hours without a full-time commitment. The position includes an 8-hour shift every Sunday plus two to three evening shifts during the week, approximately 4.5 hours each. Hillcrest Shadow Lake offers senior living and healthcare services in a welcoming environment where team members have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and coworkers. As a Server, you will help make mealtimes enjoyable by providing friendly, attentive service while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment. The role is responsible for serving prepared meals and beverages while following required cleaning, sanitation, and food-service standards. The position combines resident-facing meal service with dining-room preparation, sanitation, dishwashing, food-temperature monitoring, and other culinary support responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and movement as needed.
  • Must be comfortable standing and moving throughout meal-service periods.
  • Must be flexible, calm, and professional in stressful or changing situations.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Must follow applicable food-safety, sanitation, infection-control, and chemical-handling requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve residents meals and beverages tableside in accordance with prescribed dietary orders.
  • Become familiar with menus, prescribed diets, and food textures so you can accurately respond to resident questions.
  • Provide friendly, attentive, and respectful service throughout the dining experience.
  • Set and reset tables before and after meal service.
  • Maintain a clean and organized dining room and kitchen area.
  • Clean plates, silverware, glasses, pots, pans, and other food-service equipment using the dish machine or three-compartment sink.
  • Maintain appropriate dining-room supply levels to ensure the team is prepared for meal service.
  • Complete required food-service temperature logs before and after service.
  • Follow food-safety, sanitation, and infection-control standards.
  • Properly store and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety requirements.
  • Ensure food items are properly dated, stored, and rotated.
  • Learn resident preferences and help create a positive, personalized dining experience.
  • Assist with other culinary responsibilities and team needs as assigned.
