About The Position

Serves food and beverages to customers in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner while ensuring a positive experience for all customers. This role involves anticipating customer needs, offering assistance and advice, and maintaining a high level of service. The Server is responsible for table setup, side work, closing duties, and possessing extensive knowledge of the menu and wine list. Additionally, the role requires adherence to safety and sanitation standards, accurate computation of checks, operation of the POS system, and payment processing. The Server must also be aware of potential hazards and report them immediately, arrive on time in full uniform, and attend pre-shift meetings. This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Shift Manager.

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older.
High school diploma or equivalent.
1 year or more of high volume restaurant server experience.
Must be able to pass menu knowledge assessment of 90% or higher.
Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing including alcohol awareness certification, serve safe food handling and NYSGC required licensing.

Responsibilities

Serves customers by anticipating their needs, initiating conversation, offering assistance and advice, and remembering that “the customer is always right”.
Performs table set-up, running side work and closing duties.
Checks identification to ensure customers meet minimum age requirements for consuming alcoholic beverages.
Checks identification to ensure customers are using players cards issued to them and no one else.
Participates in area clean up.
Computes customer checks, operates the POS system and accepts payments.
Reports tips for each shift.
Maintains bar safety and sanitation standards.
Possesses awareness of potential hazards, which could cause, but are not limited to, slipping, tripping, falling or burns and immediately addresses the issue if appropriate or immediately reports it to a supervisor or leader.
Arrives for each shift on time and in full uniform.
Attends all pre-shift meetings ready to “listen and learn” and share ideas.
Follows break schedule as directed by the leader on duty.
Keeps a clean and professional appearance at all times.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
