Want to join our team? We are currently recruiting for an experienced Server. This is an hourly part time position.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working as a Server.
  • Physical requirements - must perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength including climbing, lifting up to 40 lbs (18kg), balancing, walking, and handling of materials.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must to able to carry trays filled with multiple dishes and drinks.
  • Must be able to work with others to ensure customers get the right food, made correctly, within a reasonable time window, without creating customer service issues.
  • Problem solving and conflict management - must recognize a problem when it arises and be able to resolve it appropriately by using good judgment, tact and initiative according to company procedure.
  • Communication - must maintain a strong commitment to both verbal and non-verbal communication with the staff and employees, and any other groups you interact while on shift.
  • Customer Service - must be committed to providing strong customer service regularly including attention to detail when comparing what was ordered versus what was prepared (specifically with dietary requirements).
  • Must have ProServe certification.
  • Must be available to work every weekend.

  • Once a problem is solved, must alert manager to the source of the problem with best ideas to mitigate or prevent future issues.
  • All team members must work together to create an environment for consistent, positive customer service and supportive team collaboration.
  • Flexibility - must be prepared to work overtime when needed and as a team-member assist the support of other employees when required.
  • Fit-for-work - must arrive on time, within the reasonable bounds of the dress code, and physically/mentally able to perform assigned tasks safely and effectively.
  • Analytical Skills - must know or quickly learn general accounting, kitchen budgeting, and mathematical skills.
  • Must correctly operate various mechanical devices such as POS systems, coffee machines, mixers, light kitchen equipment, dishwasher, etc.
  • Innovative Thinking - must identify, develop, and implement new and innovative solutions to seize opportunities, mitigate risks, as well as improve efficiency and quality across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the needs of the customers while taking their orders.
  • Ensuring that requests and restrictions are accurately and concisely communicated to the kitchen.
  • Bringing prepared food to customers.
  • Collecting revenue after the meal.
  • Escalating any issues to the attention of the Front of House Manager or Lead Server as appropriate.
  • Bus and clean tables.
  • Monitor the front of house for safety issues, cleanliness, and unserved customers.
  • Prepare tables for meals, including the complete set plates, silverware, glassware, etc.
  • Preparing and serving beverages as required.
  • Inform customers of daily specials as required.
  • Check food and beverage for quality and presentation before serving each guest with special attention to specific requests, restrictions, and allergies.
  • Serve food and beverage to guests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide educated recommendations to customers on the variety of food and beverages offered.
  • Receive and process customer payments professionally.
  • Clear and clean tables promptly accordingly to proper sanitation standards.
  • Assist in catering, special occasions, and theme events as required.
  • Understand and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.
  • Alert manager to significant issues including safety/cleanliness concerns, incidents impacting customer experience, and significant customer complaints.
  • Attend staff meetings as required and be aware of changes in restaurant that have taken place.
  • Uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophies relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity.
  • May required both indoor and outdoor serving responsibilities.
