About The Position
Arrow Senior Living is seeking a Server to join our team at Walden Place Senior Living in Iowa City, IA. This is a PRN (as needed) position with a flexible schedule. As a Server, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for residents, preparing for meal service, maintaining cleanliness, and observing resident dietary habits. We are looking for individuals who are at least sixteen years old, proficient in English, possess a positive and energetic attitude, and are physically capable of standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and assisting residents with mobility and after falls. Criminal clearance is required.
Requirements
- At least sixteen (16) years of age.
- Read, write, understand, and communicate in English at a minimum of 8th grade proficiency.
- Positive and energetic attitude.
- Active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, as well as assisting persons after a fall.
- Criminally cleared.
Responsibilities
- Greet residents and make them feel welcome, fostering an environment where residents can connect.
- Mingle and entertain residents in the dining room.
- Prepare tables for service, salads, and roll silverware.
- Bus tables and sweep floors.
- Communicate with supervisors and Wellness regarding poor dietary habits, changes in appetite, or resident absences from meals.
