About The Position

Oyster Loft in Pismo Beach is looking for food service professionals with a strong work ethic, customer service skills, personable personality, and a passion for working as part of a team. Oyster Loft is part of the Custom House Restaurant Group, which owns and operates 5 restaurants on the Central Coast between Pismo Beach and Avila Beach. The group believes in investing in their people and fostering a company culture that promotes genuine care and respect. They pride themselves on guest service by hiring and training the best employees on the Central Coast. Our servers play an integral role in ensuring our guests have exceptional dining experiences. We are interested in growing our team, and are in search of a professional server. The right person will be passionate about food and service, and thoroughly enjoy creating excellent experiences for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a friendly, outgoing disposition, and previous experience working as a server in a bustling, fast-paced restaurant setting. We provide full coverage for Food Handlers and Responsible Beverage Service training and certification.

Requirements

• Previous food service experience
• Able to keep up in a fast-paced work environment
• Knowledge of food service regulations
• wine and spirit knowledge
• Able to stay on your feet for an extended period of time and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Ability to obtain and maintain a California Food Handler's Certification card and Responsible Beverage Service Certification

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and direct them to their tables
• Take food and beverage orders and enter them into our system in a timely fashion
• Memorize our food and beverage menus and make recommendations to dining room guests
• Provide attentive service to guests by refilling drinks as needed and checking in during meals
• Promptly address guest service issues and refer guests to management when necessary
• Maintain sanitation standards and practices
