About The Position

The Horton Grand Hotel is a boutique hotel located in the heart of San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter and is steps away from the Convention Center, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. When it comes to the workplace, we offer the perfect balance of establishment and progressive, employee-focused initiatives all wrapped in one elegant package. We're looking for a Server to join our amazing team! This is a PM Server shift beginning as early as 3pm and finish as late as 11pm. This is a part-time position, working 3-5 shifts per week.

Requirements

2 years serving experience required.

Responsibilities

Greeting and seating customers
Taking food and beverage orders and accurately entering them into the ordering system
Making menu item recommendations
Communicating any food allergy or special nutrition needs to kitchen staff
Ensuring all orders are filled quickly and accurately and that food is high quality
Providing attentive service to diners, like refilling drinks as needed and checking their needs during meals
Promptly addressing any customer service issues and referring to management if and when necessary
Verify identification and age requirements of customers
Mix traditional and creative cocktails
Process payment from customers
Clean glasses and bar utensils
Make suggestions based on customer tastes and preferences
Record and balance cash receipts and prepare cash deposits
Open and maintain tabs throughout their shift
Build a rapport with regular customers to create a positive atmosphere
