About The Position

The Server provides table service to restaurant patrons by taking orders for food and beverages, delivering orders to the table, and ensuring that patrons have a pleasant dining experience. This role is part of the Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center, managed by Pyramid Global Hospitality, which emphasizes 'Howdy Hospitality' and the Aggie Path of P.R.I.D.E. (Positivity, Respect, Integrity, Dedication, Excellence). The position requires availability for high-occupancy times, including game days and graduations, and may involve overtime. The role is part-time, with hours varying based on business demand.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Well-organized with the ability to take and place food and beverage orders accurately.
• Have working knowledge of liquor, beer, wine, and food that is served at the property.
• Competent in suggesting pairings of food to wine or beer.
• Ability to operate point-of-sale systems.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must obtain the Texas food handling certification and TABC certification.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Must be able to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Be familiar with all property amenities and other outlets in the hotel.

• Previous experience as a server preferred (2+ years).

Responsibilities

• Greets guests as they are seated at the table; ensures the table is clean and that utensils, napkins, and other needs have been provided.
• Distributes menus and presents the daily specials.
• Answers questions regarding the menu.
• Takes food and beverage orders and delivers them to the kitchen.
• Delivers food, beverages, condiments, and other requested items to guests.
• Ensures that food is prepared correctly and to guests' satisfaction; returns incorrect or improperly cooked orders to kitchen.
• Collects plates and clears the table as guests finish their meals.
• Prepares guests' checks and collects payments.
• Assists with other restaurant tasks such as cleaning the dining area and preparing silverware and condiments.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Provide Howdy Hospitality to all guests while walking the Aggie Path of P.R.I.D.E. daily.
• Be the difference in the guest and fellow team member experience.
