About The Position

The Server at Aria Cafe & Bar provides food and beverage service, including taking and delivering orders, in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional manner to achieve a high level of guest satisfaction. The role guides guests through a menu featuring classic American cuisine with a global flair and requires morning availability. The Server maintains a clean and properly set-up station, welcomes guests, explains specials and promotions, accurately records and enters orders, delivers food and beverages, checks guest satisfaction, and processes payments. The position also includes beverage and dessert service, assisting with table clearing and resetting, completing side work and assigned cleaning, following applicable liquor regulations, and maintaining self-banking procedures.

Requirements

Morning availability is required.
Ability to maintain service standards, steps of service, and departmental standards.
Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
Knowledge of appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu items.
English reading, writing, and speaking skills sufficient to understand menus and promotions, record orders, and communicate with guests.
Ability to remember, recite, and promote menu items.
Ability to operate a keyboard and learn Point of Sale procedures for pre-checking orders and closing checks.
Prior food and beverage experience is required.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and keep the uniform clean.
Ability to stay self-motivated during slow periods.

Nice To Haves

Prior hospitality experience preferred.
Cash handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Check the station before, during, and after the shift for proper setup and cleanliness, and maintain the work area.
Greet guests courteously and explain specials and restaurant promotions.
Record guest orders, repeat them to confirm accuracy, and use guests’ names when possible.
Enter orders into the Point of Sale system to communicate order details to the kitchen.
Retrieve orders weighing up to 30 pounds, confirm accuracy, and deliver them with appropriate condiments.
Comply with applicable state, federal, and corporate regulations for serving alcoholic beverages.
Interact with guests and maintain a positive attitude throughout the shift.
Work as a team player and assist coworkers as needed.
Replenish beverages and check guests’ overall satisfaction.
Offer and serve dessert items and specialty coffees upon request.
Present checks promptly, collect payment, thank guests, and invite them to return.
Assist bus staff with clearing and resetting tables.
Complete assigned side work, including replenishing condiments and restocking service areas.
Perform assigned general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products and adhere to health standards.
Maintain self-banking procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
