About The Position

This is a part-time Server position at Avamere Hillsboro, with evening shifts from 4-7 PM and weekend availability required. The role involves setting up meal trays, dining rooms, assisting cooks, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas. The position requires a friendly and compassionate demeanor, with a focus on creating a positive environment for residents.

Requirements

Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety.
Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene while working, including frequent hand washing and securing hair away from the face.
Interpersonal skills necessary to establish effective relationships with department workers and with other departments.
Skill and ability to learn to operate kitchen equipment.
Ability to obtain and maintain active CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
Current Food Handlers card issued by local Health Department.
Knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures, as well as related laws, regulations and pertaining to hospital and nursing home operation.
Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information.
Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm and cheerful environment.

Responsibilities

Set up meal trays, food carts and the dining room.
Ensure that food, menus and supplies for the next meal are readily available.
Assist in daily cleaning duties, such as worktables, refrigerators, etc.
Retrieve dishes from the dining room, wash and clean utensils, and return them to their proper storage areas.
Keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous materials.
Assist Cooks in preparing meals.
