About The Position

The Elks Temple Hangout at McMenamins is seeking a Server/Bartender. This role involves a wide range of duties from opening to closing, including serving food and beverages, customer interaction, operating the POS system, cleaning, and maintaining excellent customer relations. The position requires physical stamina, mental agility, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Teamwork and a positive attitude are essential. Employees are also expected to stay informed about company events, history, and products.

Requirements

Obtain and maintain current food handlers and OLCC/WA liquor license.
Ability to accurately handle cash and work with numbers.
Excellent customer service & communication skills.
A flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays required.
Ability to safely lift and carry heavy objects with a hand truck or the help of another person if necessary.
Must have a value for diversity and the ability to work with individuals from different backgrounds.
Ability to remain calm and focused in a high volume, deadline oriented work environment.
Work for long periods on feet including frequent walking, stair climbing and working outdoors in varied weather conditions as necessary.
Perform repetitive movement such as pushing, pulling, bending, some twisting and stooping.
Perform fine hand manipulation including handling small and large objects, computer keyboard usage, writing, and use of kitchen equipment including knives and slicers.
Ability to communicate clearly & be positive, polite, and cooperative with co-workers, managers, vendors, and customers.
Work in & around a hot kitchen and various heat sources, including grills, broilers, and hot-oil fryers.
Work with chemicals used in cleaning and sanitizing.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Serve food and pour/serve beer, wine, and spirits.
Greet incoming customers and seat guests or direct them to their preferred seating.
Wait on tables and bus them.
Operate a cash register and/or POS system.
Restock supplies.
Perform dishwashing and general cleaning duties.
Work in smoking and non-smoking environments.
Work outside on a seasonal basis.
Maintain and provide excellent customer relations.
Perform duties outside of normal responsibilities as needed.
Keep current on all company events, history, and products.
Complete miscellaneous side work as directed by the manager on duty.
