About The Position

West Coast Seniors Housing Management is seeking a Server to join their team. This position reports to the Support Services Manager and/or designate and is responsible for all aspects of service in the dining room, resident lounges, and room service for residents, guests, and the public. The Server will provide quality customer service related to the culinary experience within the communities, fostering an engaging work environment that emphasizes respect, dignity, and growth.

Requirements

  • Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Food Safe Level 1 Certificate
  • Serving It Right Certificate as applicable.
  • WHMIS Certificate.
  • All successful applicants must pass the vulnerable sector Criminal Record Check applicable to Provincial guidelines.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently and understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to operate related food service equipment.
  • Ability to push, pull, stoop, crouch, lift and carry up to 30 lbs. Must be able to work with cleaners, detergents and other cleaning equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 year’s experience in a dining room environment an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Be an engaged collaborative team player, developing and maintaining professional relationships that support and strengthen the organizational culture and purpose.
  • Prepares dining room for all services which includes; setting tables, stocking necessary items, assisting the preparation, presentation and serving of food and beverages.
  • Carries out general cleaning duties in the dining room which includes; clearing and bussing tables, scrapping and at times washing dishes while following the company’s Infection Protection and Control guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain an atmosphere conducive to pleasant dining by creating an environment which maintains the happiness, self-respect, general dignity and physical safety of each resident.
  • Promote and maintain positive communication and relationships among staff, residents and the public.
  • Responsible for some or all tasks related to housekeeping and laundry duties as required.
  • Attends and participates in community and education programs.
  • Responds to resident and building emergencies.
  • Perform other duties as required
