About The Position

Pier Sixty-Six Resort, a luxury resort in Fort Lauderdale, is seeking a Server for its Saltbreeze restaurant. The resort offers 325 guest rooms, suites, and villas, 12 restaurants and lounges, a spa, and retail/dining options. The resort aims to create a caring culture for its over 600 diverse team members, providing state-of-the-art facilities, a first-class employee dining room, and focusing on individual welfare and wellbeing. The Server will be an integral part of the team, responsible for greeting guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction, aiming to turn guest interactions into memorable experiences.

Requirements

  • Must meet the legal age requirement to serve alcohol.
  • Previous experience passionately providing food and beverage service to others preferred.
  • TIPS and Food Handler certifications are required.
  • Familiarity of restaurant terminology and food service techniques preferred.
  • People Person. The best part of serving others is creating experiences for them that go beyond the expected.
  • Great communicator. Providing amazing experiences requires the ability to communicate fluently in English both verbally and through legible writing.
  • Must be able to work outdoors for an extended period.
  • Must work and assist other departments in case of inclement weather.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome & acknowledge all guests outlined by Pier Sixty-Six- and five-star standards.
  • Understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Make the Manager aware of guest feedback.
  • Follow specified procedures to properly set-up pool stations and perform side work daily.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and condition of all glasses, dishes, utensils used in poolside service.
  • Follow all Pier Sixty Six cash handling and credit card policies as they relate to InfoGenesis.
  • Practice safe work habits to avoid injury to self and others.
  • Answer questions and help guide guests through the menu.
  • Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests promptly.
  • Record transaction in InfoGenesis system at time of order.
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, recooking orders, and product availability along with meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages.
  • Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning in a requisition.
  • Present physical and accurate check to guests and process payments.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Run food and bus tables when you find extra time.
  • Anticipate and address guests` service needs.
  • Speak with team members and guests using clear and professional language.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support your team to reach common goals.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
  • Extend courteous salutations when guests leave the outlet an invite them to return.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  • Monitor all guest activity in assigned work area; be alert to any sign of trouble.
  • Ensure safety of guests and enforcement of pool rules/ precautions according to department standards.
  • Secure storage areas.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of daily house count, VIPs in-house, arrivals/departures.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of scheduled group activities and locations within hotel.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all hotel facilities and services.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of hours of operation of each outlet.
