About The Position
Transforming Age is a leading nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of older adults by integrating housing, community services, technology, philanthropy, and partnerships. Our Servers assist residents with meal selection, which may include ordering from menu, buffet/a la carte item selection, and assistance with any buffet stations (e.g. salad bar, breakfast bar.) as needed. They present menus to residents, answer questions and make suggestions regarding meal choices, record orders and relay them to the kitchen production area. Servers are knowledgeable about menu choices, including ingredients and preparation methods. They work efficiently and quickly deliver food to residents, aiding them as needed. They clear, clean, and reset tables for next meal service. Servers may also assist with light back of house/kitchen duties (including such tasks as salad bar, soup service, portion desserts, brew coffee or other services as needed), assist with clearing tables, and observe residents to ensure safety in our dining areas. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Previous server experience highly preferred.
- 6 months or more in long term care, home care or related field preferred.
- Software experience using POS (point-of-sale) transactional systems
- Must possess effective English verbal and written communication skills.
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen, may need to complete other pre-employment screenings such as physical, fingerprint, and TB test as required by state/local guidelines.
