About The Position

The Server role is responsible for providing excellent customer service to restaurant guests. This includes greeting guests, taking orders, delivering food and beverages, processing payments, and ensuring guest satisfaction. Servers are also expected to perform side work, attend meetings, and potentially work as a Food Runner. A strong understanding of the menu and adherence to hygiene standards are essential.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to read and understand simple instructions.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information to customers and other team members.
  • Ability to add and subtract two and three-digit numbers and perform these operations using units of American money.
  • Ability to operate computer point-of-sale system.
  • Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
  • Food Handler Certification is required.
  • TABC Certification is required.
  • Constant standing/walking
  • Occasional stooping/kneeling
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying up to 40 pounds
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps
  • Constant working in a hot, wet, humid, and loud environment for long periods
  • Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing or rotation of the wrist(s) and spine
  • Constant receiving detailed information through oral communication
  • Constant talking, expressing, or exchanging ideas using the spoken word
  • Constant clarity of vision at near and/or far distances

Nice To Haves

  • Previous restaurant experience is optional but preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and greet guests.
  • Make guests feel comfortable and cared for.
  • Answer questions about food, beverages, and restaurant services.
  • Take food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
  • Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests promptly.
  • Prepare final bills, present checks, accept payments, and process credit card charges or make change.
  • Perform side work as required at the start and end of each shift.
  • Monitor guests' dining experience to ensure satisfaction.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to requests and communicate guest feedback to managers.
  • Assist fellow servers.
  • Obtain strong working knowledge of the menu by completing server training.
  • Work 1-2 Food Runner shifts per week.
  • Attend all scheduled team member meetings.
