About The Position

The server will wait on tables promptly, courteously and to serve our guests with a genuine care. This position requires knowledge of the dining room, menus, and beverage offerings. The server will greet guests, take orders, answer questions, and offer suggestions. They will communicate with the culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, and special requests. Transactions will be recorded in the MICROS system, and cash handling standards must be adhered to. The server will check in with guests to ensure satisfaction, present accurate checks, and process payments. Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, station set-up and break-down, and completing side work duties are also key responsibilities. Service will be provided according to Omni Moments of Service Standards, including greeting guests warmly, cleaning and resetting service areas, and protecting the hotel from liability with regard to over-serving guests. Any other duties as assigned by the restaurant manager will also be performed.

Requirements

Minimum 1-year serving experience
Must have unexpired Food Handlers and TIPS – or obtain upon hire.
Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting specialty mixed cocktails.
Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers.
Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS.
Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
Ability to work cohesively with co-workers both within and outside of your department.
Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Position requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, twisting, and consistent use of hands and arms.
Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in indoor/outdoor environments

Previous cash handling experience preferred

Responsibilities

Knowledge of the dining room.
Must have full familiarity with menus and beverage offerings.
Greet guests when entering the restaurant with a pleasant smile and superior customer service.
Take orders and answer questions/offer suggestions on both food and beverage menu selections, and daily specials.
Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests.
Record transaction in MICROS system at time of order and adhere to cash handling standards.
Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage.
Present accurate check to guest and process payment.
Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
Process station set-up and break-down and complete all other side work duties as assigned.
Ensure tables are set up properly, including polishing and cleaning glasses.
Service to guests according to Omni Moments of Service Standards.
Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained.
Clean, clear and reset service areas.
Protect the hotel from liability with regard to over serving guests.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the restaurant manager.
