About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Server Systems Engineer to work on-site at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska. This role involves designing and defining system architecture, maintaining computer systems' workflows, and providing technical support for networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures. The engineer will troubleshoot system issues, train end users, perform software installations and upgrades, monitor system performance, ensure data integrity and recoverability through backups, and conduct audits for compliance. Additionally, the role may involve evaluating existing systems, planning long-term strategies, and mentoring less-experienced professionals.

TS/SCI with Poly clearance
HS or GED and 19 Year(s) Experience or Bachelors and 14 Year(s) Experience

Responsibilities

Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems
Maintains an organization's computer systems' workflows and is responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, including fixing network issues along with updating equipment and software
Provide technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures
Troubleshoots moderately complex system hardware and software issues
Trains end users on the proper use of hardware and software
Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels
Ensures workstation/server data integrity by implementing standard software and hardware solutions
Ensures data/media recoverability by following a schedule of system backups and database archive operations
Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines
Ensures that performance and security of computers meet the needs of network users
May evaluate existing systems and assist with planning long-term strategies
May coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals
