About The Position

This role involves taking orders from guests using a specific technique, accurately entering them into the POS system, and ensuring all 13 Standards of Service are met. The server will describe the menu in detail, answer questions about ingredients and allergens, and inform guests about daily specials. They will utilize suggestive selling and upselling techniques, pre-set tables, and perform ongoing quality checks to ensure guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include refilling drinks, clearing tables, anticipating guest needs, garnishing and delivering food, and processing payments efficiently. The server must maintain complete knowledge of wine selections and entrée accompaniments, provide recommendations, and support team members by being aware of and assisting with guests outside their own service areas. They will practice alcohol awareness, understand legal drinking age and ID verification, and adhere to safety and sanitation procedures. The role also requires promoting company services and the player's club program, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and adhering to all company policies. This position does not involve supervision of other team members.

Requirements

  • Food Handler’s Certificate required.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in cash handling.
  • Ability to work in a professional high-pressure environment while demonstrating and maintaining good personal relation/people skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to multitask and work well under stress.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to adjust to change.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours during the day or evening including weekends, holidays, and all blackout dates.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or general education degree preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • RASS or TIPS Certification of alcohol awareness program must be obtained within 90 days of employment and maintain current certification.
  • California Responsible Beverage Service Training and Certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Takes orders from guests using position number technique, writes orders down on server pad and enters into Point of Sales (POS) system within prescribed time limit according to Food and Beverage service standards.
  • Ensures all 13 Standards of Service are met for each guest.
  • Describes menu in detail and answers questions regarding menu ingredients, allergens, and preparation. Informs guests on daily specials.
  • Uses descriptive verbiage, suggestive sell and upsell techniques.
  • Pre-sets tables with any needed condiments, utensils, or plates.
  • Performs on going quality checks with guests to ensure complete satisfaction with their dining experience.
  • Refills drinks, as necessary, and clears any unneeded items off the table (pre-bussing).
  • Anticipates guests’ needs and responds appropriately to guests’ needs through vigilant attention to follow-up.
  • Garnishes and completes dishes prior to serving.
  • Delivers completed items from kitchen to guests utilizing hand delivery service. Delivering food to guest according to position number.
  • Performs proper payment procedures in a timely manner and assists with guests’ departure.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of wines, both domestic and international, selection, entrée accompaniment, presentation, and service. Makes recommendations to guest when necessary.
  • Supports other team members by awareness of guests’ needs, outside of their own service areas. Alerts the area servers when guests require attention or provides service to guests when necessary.
  • Practices alcohol awareness and gets manager involved when necessary. Knows the legal drinking age and procedures for requesting proof of age from guests.
  • Understands and practices excellent safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of and effectively promotes company services and player’s club program.
  • Ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained.
  • Adheres to all company and department policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
