About The Position

The Server offers prompt and courteous service, so the guests have an enjoyable experience. This position also maintains the cleanliness and guest ready appearance of outlet. PREREQUISITES Company associates have access to guestrooms and property. As such, character traits of honesty and trustworthiness are essential to this position and must be displayed at all times. Per company policy, potential associates must pass appropriate security clearances. One year experience in food and beverage position preferred. Experience with chain food and retail outlet preferred. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Must be able to perform major life activities: Standing, lifting, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating. Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift and/or carry 30 pounds unassisted. Must be able to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, reach. Must be able to see and hear. Must be able to communicate with other associates and/or guests.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of age requirements and verify those who order any alcoholic beverages.
  • Knowledge of menu items, preparation methods and beverage choices.
  • Knowledge of standards of operation as required by brand.
  • Knowledge of area shopping, dining, entertainment and travel directions to assist guest inquiries.
  • Knowledge of daily hotel operations check daily events, bulletin boards and are up to date on changes, new procedures and events.
  • Knowledge of entire property, staff, services, hours of operation, type of rooms, locations, rates, discounts.
  • Service minded, friendly professional behavior.
  • Welcoming and personable.
  • Computer literate to thoroughly operate property management system: post charges, compute bills, collect payment and make change.
  • Ability to sell, suggest and serve quality food and beverage items as per standards.
  • Ability to multi-task, remain associate and guest service centric.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with guests and associates.
  • Ability to solve guest issues with professionalism and maintain a hospitable attitude.
  • Ability to market and promote to increase exposure and sales.
  • Ability to work as a team member in aspects such as: cleaning, side work, food preparation and storage.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and consistently maintain dining area and supplies in a guest ready atmosphere.
  • Process guest charges and gratuities in accordance with standards, policies and procedures.
  • Maintain safety and security practices, have thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Ensure guests are provided with the highest quality product and service.
  • Complete daily side work including stocking.
  • May also be responsible for ordering, cost control and maintaining the quality of items served or alerting management to issues in these areas in a timely manner.
  • Maintain certification from a brand approved responsible vendor training program.
  • Other duties as assigned, that the associate is capable of performing.
