About The Position

Successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation, administration, monitoring, and continuous improvement of server infrastructure across all client and internal environments, with backup and disaster recovery maintained as a secondary but critical focus area. This role will act as the primary owner of server infrastructure operations, ensuring that physical, virtual, and cloud-hosted server environments are secure, stable, documented, monitored, and aligned with organizational objectives and client requirements. As a Server Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for standardizing and improving server operations, including virtualization platforms, Windows and Linux servers, patching, performance monitoring, storage connectivity, system lifecycle management, and infrastructure documentation. Backup and disaster recovery responsibilities will remain part of the role to ensure infrastructure resiliency and recoverability. This is a hands-on engineering role with direct responsibility for the availability, performance, security, and reliability of server infrastructure, while also supporting backup integrity, recovery readiness, and disaster recovery preparedness.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in server infrastructure, virtualization, storage, and systems administration
  • Strong experience administering Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file services, and core infrastructure roles
  • Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or comparable enterprise virtualization technologies
  • Experience managing server performance, patching, hardening, monitoring, and lifecycle maintenance
  • Experience with storage platforms including SAN, NAS, cloud storage, and server-connected storage architectures
  • Working knowledge of enterprise backup solutions, recovery strategies, retention policies, and disaster recovery concepts
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex server, storage, networking, and application infrastructure issues
  • Strong documentation and process-oriented mindset
  • Ability to operate independently with full ownership of critical infrastructure services
  • Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to identify infrastructure risks and proactively implement improvements
  • Ability to balance primary server infrastructure ownership with secondary backup and disaster recovery responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day administration and improvement of server infrastructure
  • Ensure proactive monitoring, maintenance, and issue resolution across server environments
  • Support virtualization, operating system, storage, and cloud infrastructure standards
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for server administration and infrastructure support
  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding infrastructure health, risks, maintenance activities, and recovery readiness
  • Follow company change management policies when implementing infrastructure updates
  • Maintain accountability across server-related incidents, projects, and recurring operational tasks
  • Support backup validation, recovery testing, and disaster recovery readiness as a secondary responsibility
  • Own administration, support, and continuous improvement of client and internal server infrastructure
  • Manage Windows Server roles and services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file services, print services, and related infrastructure components
  • Support virtualization platforms, host configuration, guest VM management, resource allocation, and performance tuning
  • Monitor server health, capacity, performance, patch status, and security posture
  • Lead server incident triage, root cause analysis, remediation, and documentation
  • Plan and execute server upgrades, migrations, replacements, and lifecycle management activities
  • Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, diagrams, inventories, SOPs, and configuration standards
  • Support backup job monitoring, restore validation, recovery testing, and disaster recovery readiness
  • Ensure server infrastructure aligns with availability, performance, security, and recoverability objectives
