About The Position

The Waterford is seeking a Server/Host to join their team. This role is responsible for providing a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience for residents, offering exemplary customer service in the dining room. The Waterford is a respected leader in senior living in South Delta, offering independent living and private long-term care, and is part of Bria Communities, a local, private company operating four vibrant retirement communities. Requirements

  • Level 1 Food Safe certification
  • Serving it Right certification
  • Minimum 1 year of serving experience
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
  • Passion for helping seniors and providing excellent service
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Must demonstrate a positive and team-oriented attitude
  • Must work well within a team environment
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and have strong initiative
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be able to safely and efficiently operate all equipment associated with the duties required for the position

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the Room Service cart is ready and delivered promptly and professionally.
  • Greeting residents at the entrance with a smile, cheerfully assisting them to their desired table, and managing walkers for safety.
  • Pouring beverages and running food from the kitchen.
  • Bussing, cleaning, and sanitizing tables in all sections.
  • Setting tables meticulously and communicating to the appropriate server when residents are seated in their section.
  • Serving parties in the private dining room when booked, attending to all their requests.
  • Assisting with cleaning and closing duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, washing tables and chairs, and putting away clean dishes, cutlery, and glassware.
  • Maintaining a positive attitude that promotes teamwork and strong communication.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef & Sous Chef.
