About The Position

Taboo Muskoka is seeking experienced and guest-focused Breakfast Servers to join our Food & Beverage team at The Boathouse Restaurant in Gravenhurst. Serving our leisure guests, condo owners, locals and/or working events with corporate clients on beautiful Lake Muskoka is a great way to spend your summer! This is a seasonal position available through October. Staff housing is available.

Requirements

Previous experience in casual or fine dining is an asset.
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
Ontario Smart Serve Certification required.
Valid driver’s license for golf cart operation.

Nice To Haves

Food Handler Certification is an asset but not required.
First Aid/CPR Certification is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

Greet guests, present breakfast menus, inform them of daily specials, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding food and beverage items.
Engage, converse, and interact with guests in a positive, friendly, professional, courteous, and respectful manner at all times.
Take food and beverage orders and accurately relay them to kitchen staff via the POS system in a timely manner, clearly communicating any modifications as required.
Upsell beverages and breakfast menu enhancements to complement guest selections.
Serve all food and beverage orders efficiently using proper service etiquette.
Ensure guest satisfaction and report any concerns or issues to the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager or Food & Beverage Manager.
Ensure the dining room is properly set, cleared, cleaned, and reset throughout each shift, including completion of all assigned side duties.
Set up and prepare banquet rooms according to event specifications.
Provide professional food and beverage service for corporate events, meetings, conferences, special events.
Assist with event setup, breakdown and room turnover while adhering to timelines.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and hygiene in accordance with company policy.
Maintain service standards as outlined in the departmental Training Manual.
Complete all work as directed by members of the Food & Beverage management team and perform all other duties as assigned.
Work calmly and efficiently while promoting positive relationships with related departments.
Work safely and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with company policy and Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
Positively promote departmental and resort special events and activities.
Carry out duties within the general scope of the position and follow all departmental and resort policies.
Request assistance when required to maintain the department's service standards during high business volumes.
Other duties as assigned.
