The Server/Bartender at Hickory is responsible for providing an elevated dining experience through attentive, knowledgeable, and personalized service. This role requires strong hospitality instincts, in-depth menu knowledge, and the ability to anticipate guest needs in a refined, high-volume environment. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year in a restaurant serving or hospitality role.
  • Strong communication, multitasking, and guest service skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant service.
  • Knowledge of wine, cocktails, and food pairings.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests promptly and warmly, establishing a welcoming and professional tone.
  • Guide guests through the menu, describing dishes, answering questions, and making thoughtful recommendations for food and beverage pairings.
  • Accurately record orders using the POS system, ensuring all modifications, allergies, and dietary needs are clearly communicated to the kitchen and bar.
  • Deliver food and beverages with precision, following service standards for timing, presentation, and guest interaction.
  • Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and other beverages according to established recipes, presentation, and service standards.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the meal and proactively address any concerns or requests.
  • Anticipate guest needs, such as refills, additional courses, or special celebrations, enhancing the overall dining experience.
  • Communicate effectively with all front-of-house staff and kitchen staff to maintain seamless service flow.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned sections, side stations, and service areas.
  • Reset and sanitize tables promptly and according to standards between seatings.
  • Accurately process guest payments, handle cash or card transactions securely, and close checks with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support front-of-house operations during peak periods, private events, and special functions.
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service by verifying guest age and monitoring consumption per company policy.
  • Uphold Hickory and Nicewonder Inn’s service standards, ensuring every guest experience reflects the brand’s hospitality and excellence.
