About The Position

Mystic, located on the Halifax waterfront in the new Queen’s Marque District, is a fine-dining restaurant that explores the natural landscape of Canada with a focus on its Maritime provinces. The restaurant's chefs are passionate about showcasing the region’s most exceptional fish, flora, and fauna, curating an authentic expression of time and place. The team aims to forge an honest connection between the kitchen and the table, taking an authentic and elevated approach to hospitality. The Server Assistant will intuitively adapt to the unique needs of each guest, ensuring everyone leaves feeling their experience was well worth the journey.

Requirements

Previous experience in a luxury or fine dining restaurant (required)
Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a fast-paced environment
Organizational skills
Ability to take direction and prioritize a variety of tasks at once
Strong oral communication skills
High level of product knowledge

Responsibilities

Answering questions about food, beverage, wine, and other restaurant functions and services.
Assisting with food running, ensuring plates arrive to the proper guest using table and seat numbers.
Emptying garbage, linen bags, and disposing of garbage and recycling.
Monitoring the cleanliness of sections and ensuring all materials and areas are clean and free from clutter.
Communicating professionally with servers and hosts to maximize seating.
Communicating any comments or information provided by guests to servers to ensure a positive, memorable experience.
Following all food safety standards and systems.
Performing other similar duties as required.
