About The Position

As a Restaurant Server Assistant, you are the backbone of the dining room floor, ensuring our guests experience the seamless, high-caliber hospitality that defines Saks Global. In this role, you will meticulously maintain the dining room layout, support the service and culinary teams, and execute table maintenance. Your keen eye for detail, pacing, and premium service standards will directly contribute to an unforgettable dining experience for every guest.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in a food and beverage or upscale hospitality role, with a basic understanding of table service guidelines.
  • Foundational knowledge of the proper order of service and the correct placement of luxury table settings (china, glass, flatware) based on kitchen tickets and training manuals.
  • Familiarity with basic food preparation concepts and culinary terminology to confidently navigate kitchen-to-table communication.
  • Highly motivated, results-driven, detail-oriented, and able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong passion for hospitality and a dedicated "win together" collaborative mindset.
  • Role requires significant physical stamina for extended periods of standing, walking the floor, bending, climbing stairs, and the ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on premium retail and hospitality business needs, which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Focuses on table maintenance in the dining room, ensuring tables are promptly cleared, sanitized, and flawlessly reset according to brand standards.
  • Learns table numbers, seating charts, and server sections to navigate the floor with precision.
  • Proactively polishes and restocks clean glassware, flatware, china, and fresh linens throughout the shift.
  • Cleans, organizes, and maintains all service stations, beverage areas, and side-work hubs.
  • Sets up the dining room before service with foundational items, including water carafes, coffee, iced tea, and ice reservoirs.
  • Acts as a food runner, delivering culinary items and beverages from the kitchen to the guest tables exactly as indicated by kitchen tickets.
  • Anticipates and assists the front-of-house waitstaff and back-of-house kitchen staff with real-time operational needs, such as refilling guest beverages, restocking line plates, bagging luxury "to-go" orders, and prepping the expediter station.
  • Handles additional guest requests on the floor with immediate, gracious hospitality, looping in the primary Server or Manager as needed.
  • Assists with the physical configuration of the room, including safely moving or adjusting tables, chairs, and highchairs to accommodate guest comfort.
  • Executes all pre-shift, post-shift, daily, and weekly side-work duties with high discipline under the direction of the leader.
  • Actively participates in daily pre-shift meetings to review daily specials, floor pacing, and VIP reservations.
  • Maintains the highest level of personal hygiene and luxury presentation standards, including a clean, pressed uniform and professionally styled hair and nails to eliminate food contamination risks.
  • Arrives to the workstation on time, fully dressed in proper uniform, and equipped with the tools necessary to perform daily duties.
  • Exercises absolute integrity with scheduling by punching in/out accurately for all shifts and coordinating timed meal breaks seamlessly with the team.
  • Follows established restaurant procedures for any schedule or shift changes, and coordinates all time-off requests proactively with management.
