About The Position

The James is seeking collaborative and detail-driven Server Assistants to join their team. The James is a neighborhood restaurant offering classic American fare in the heart of James Island, Charleston. With a warm, family-friendly atmosphere, The James serves familiar, comforting dishes with genuine hospitality, creating a welcoming community space that guests love to return to. Locally operated by The Neighborhood Dining Group, The James upholds a culture rooted in quality, service, and people-first leadership. We're looking for a Server Assistant to support our front-of-house team and help create a seamless, elevated guest experience.

Requirements

• Energetic, dependable, and team-oriented
• Detail-focused with a sense of urgency and professionalism
• Eager to learn and grow within the hospitality industry
• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Support Servers by clearing, resetting, and maintaining clean, organized tables
• Assist in delivering food and beverage orders with professionalism and care
• Keep service areas stocked, clean, and guest-ready
• Anticipate guest needs and provide warm, genuine hospitality at every turn
• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment
