About The Position

The Server Assistant is responsible for providing the highest quality of service to guests in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. He/she is also responsible for assisting the server at all times, clearing tables, refilling stations, etc. The Server assistant acts professionally at all times and provides the guests memorable experience.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Some food and beverage serving and/or related food and beverage experience at a luxury hotel or restaurant is an asset.
  • Basic product knowledge is preferred with further training to be provided.
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
  • Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift.
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout the dining area while carrying full trays of food & beverages.

  • Effectively listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Multitasking and prioritizing departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approaching all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
  • Attending all hotel required meetings and trainings.
  • Maintaining regular attendance in compliance with Raffles Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Complying with Raffles Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximizing efforts towards productivity, identifying problem areas and assisting in implementing solutions.
  • Effectively handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
  • Understanding and applying complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Cross-training in other hotel related areas if needed.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of information.
  • Showing initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Performing other duties as requested by management.
  • Maintaining a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
