About The Position

The Server Assistant position at Nobu provides prompt, courteous service to restaurant patrons and ensure guests are satisfied with their dining experience by assisting Food Servers.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write English sufficiently to perform job.
  • Remaining calm in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Demonstrating a high level of organization, attention-to-detail and a sense-of-urgency.
  • Displaying a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests.
  • Must be observant and quick to respond to various situations while also multitasking and handling stressful situations
  • Must be neat and clean in appearance and physically fit to perform the duties required
  • Ability to move throughout the outlet (standing, walking, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to make repeating movements of the arms, hands, and wrists.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas verbally and perceive sound by ear.
  • Manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work with hand above shoulders.
  • Ability to occasionally, regularly, frequently move objects (lift, push, pull, balance, carry) up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to turn or twist body parts in a circular motion.
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience of at least one year in a high-volume, fine dining establishment is preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a Food & Beverage related position for a high-volume nightclub or high-volume restaurant preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Food Servers in service of food and beverage offerings.
  • Maintain tables throughout service, clearing dishes between courses and empty glassware as necessary.
  • Make sure that all tables are set completely both before and after shift.
  • Responsible for all food and beverage items received.
  • Visually inspects all items received and informs superior of any discrepancies.
  • Responsible for all items received to assure good conditions are maintained.
  • Ensures that the receipt and request of all items is timely and accurate.
  • Responsible for the monitoring and replenishing of all stock items in assigned area in a neat, accurate and timely fashion.
  • Make sure all areas are clean and free of debris.
  • Polish all glassware as necessary.
  • Clearing and scraping all dishes in the side stations after clearing a table.
  • Make or replenish coffee, tea, water, or soft beverages as needed.
  • Partners with both FOH/ BOH teams to work as a team to ensure coordinated workflow.
  • Stock all side stations with linen and proper glassware.
  • Service and explanation of menu items to guests
  • Change tablecloth and reset tables as quickly as possible after guests leave the restaurant.
  • Provide service of beverage offerings
  • Maintain professional demeanor throughout service, assisting servers and captains as necessary.
  • Move tables throughout dining room in order to be able to set up and accommodate need of the reservations.
  • Carry multiple dishes (up to 6 at one time) in one hand without tray service.
  • Stocks assigned area with product and supplies throughout the shift; maintaining proper product pars.
  • Acknowledges and greets all guests they encounter.
  • Completes special assignments for management as requested.
