About The Position

The OAK Long Bar + Kitchen is seeking a Server Assistant to join their team. This role is responsible for supporting the dining room operations by setting up tables, preparing beverages, stocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness. The Server Assistant will ensure a positive guest experience by approaching all encounters in a friendly and service-oriented manner, and will assist servers as needed. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Requirements

• Must have a very flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and AM & PM shifts.
• High school diploma or related experience preferred.
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
• Must be able to stand and walk throughout the entire shift.
• Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
• Must be able to maintain a level or organization and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
• Maintain proper rotation of products in chillers.
• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Fairmont Standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag while working.
• Comply at all times with Fairmont standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
• Set up all tables in the dining room for appropriate shift.
• Prepare iced tea, coffee, espresso, juice, hot chocolate.
• Stock necessary equipment, including linen, china, glasses, cutlery, and supplies to maintain proper meal period table settings.
• Maintain proper settings on tables during course of shift.
• Clear tables quickly and efficiently upon completion of courses.
• Complete cleaning duties utilizing corporate SOP checklist. (dusting, sweeping, wiping, polishing, etc.)
• Prepare lemon by cutting in wedges.
• Serve guests in waiter’s absence.
• Maintain beverage levels in glasses on tables. (coffee, tea, water, juice)
• Other duties as required.
