About The Position

The Server Apprentice is responsible for providing a timely and professional retrieval of dishes, tables and trays remaining after the In Room Dining (IRD) delivery and maintaining the required supply of products and equipment needed to prepare the guest’s food and beverage order safely and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Requires extensive knowledge of the resort, hotel features and services including all outlets, hours of operation, activities and events available to guests
  • Must be able to stand for long periods, lift and carry heavy trays or bus tubs, and move quickly to serve guests' needs
  • Must be able to collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and other Members
  • Able to communicate in English fluently and in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work efficiently during busy times while maintaining a high level of service
  • Be adaptable and capable of handling high-pressure situations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and within a team environment
  • Highly organized and ability to set and clear tables efficiently
  • Ability to apply positive personalized service to every guest’s interaction
  • Passion for guest service and the hospitality service industry
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include holidays, nights and weekends

  • Member must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
  • Written communication skills in English may also be required.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • The Member is regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers to handle or utilize objects, tools, or controls.
  • The Member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision.
  • The Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Personalize the service through use of guest by name and a sincere interest in the guest’s well-being
  • Ensure timely retrieval of IRD soiled dishes, tables and trays from the guest’s room or suite
  • Exit guest’s room/suite in a respectful and appreciative manner using the guest name
  • Retrieve IRD soiled dishes, tables, and trays throughout the entire property
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the guest hallways and elevator landings
  • Accurately pre-set tables and trays for anticipated volume
  • Assist in the accurate assembly and preparation of orders prior to delivery
  • Assist Food Servers in the delivery process as requested
  • Responsible for the accurate pick-up matrix and HotSOS documentation of every retrieval and assignment
  • Complete all side work as assigned by management
  • Maintain a healthy and safe working environment
  • Proactively stock and maintain set up lines with proper inventory of China, glass, flatware, linens, condiments, and dressings to have readily available for the complete preparation of IRD tables and trays for delivery
  • Ensure proper rotation of all supplies and the accurate labeling of perishable products in compliance with the Nevada State Health Code
  • Accurately document on daily inventory sheets all front of house food/beverage products
  • Accurately document on daily inventory and daily inspection check lists including health and safety related standards
  • Responsible for the retrieval of goods and supplies from the various support areas including warehouse, bakery, pastry, cake room and other support kitchens
  • Temporary or permanent duties and responsibilities may be added to or modified as deemed necessary.
