About The Position

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak and follow written and/or oral direction in English.
  • Must have one year of fine dining service or private club server experience.
  • Must include use of the Point of Sale (POS) computer system.
  • Must know finer points of service, basic understanding of wines; a good understanding of beverages - alcoholic and nonalcoholic, a working knowledge of course sequence, utensils, plate ware and glassware, a working knowledge of appropriate equipment and accompanying safety features.
  • Must be able to work on feet, moving about at a quick pace for several hours at a time.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 35 pounds, to include furniture, glasses, dishes, ice, beer, wine, liquor - individually on racks and/or trays or by cases.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure guests have a very enjoyable dining experience by having a positive attitude, knowing the product, delivering top quality service, knowing and using the guest’s names, exceeding the guests expectations and being a team player.
  • Be punctual at all times and arrive to work on time, consistently.
  • Make sure all side work is complete before opening.
  • Set up tables: glasses and silver are clean and lined up properly; salt and pepper shakers clean and filled; sugar holders are full and clean; chairs, including legs and table bases, are clean; flowers look good; table cloth is crisp and hanging properly.
  • Attend pre-shift meeting to learn daily specials and miscellaneous information.
  • Greet members and their guests IMMEDIATELY and with a SMILE.
  • Guide members and their guests through the course of their dining experience, communicating frequently with them.
  • Ring member checks accurately and on a timely manner.
  • Communicate with the Dining Room Captain or the Dining Room Manager as to when to close.
  • Clean station and side work as required.
  • Close and check all member checks at the end of the shift.
  • Turn in check-out to the Dining Room Captain or the Dining Room Manager.
  • Perform other jobs that will assist in quality member service as assigned by the Dining Room Captain or the Dining Room Manager.
