About The Position
The Serology Technician will perform manual and automated ELISA tests, Western Blot tests, and assist in resolving discrepancies, troubleshooting results, and inventory. This role also involves performing serum separation, making in-house ELISA plates, and ensuring all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with guidelines. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining customer privacy, working effectively as a team member, and demonstrating proactive problem-solving and productive work habits with a focus on accuracy and quality.
Requirements
- 9 month Clinical Laboratory Serology Technician training
- Bachelor Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related science field
Responsibilities
- Perform manual Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) and automated ELISA tests using DSX Automated Processor on patient serum samples.
- Perform Western Blot tests using BeeBlot Machine.
- Perform simple preventive maintenance of DSX, Automated Washer, Absorbance Detector and Beeblot Machine in accordance with standard protocol (daily, weekly, monthly, and annually).
- Assist in resolving discrepancies, troubleshooting results, and inventory.
- Assist in the interpretation of results of ELISA and Western Blot tests.
- Perform and process serum separation if needed.
- Make In-house ELISA plates.
- Performs other similar or related duties as required or assigned.
- Assures activities are conducted in a safe manner and materials are handled according to safety guidelines.
- Assures customer privacy is maintained at all times.
- Participates as a team member and is accountable for own work responsibilities.
- Assures information is delivered in a manner that is supportive, timely and understandable.
- Initiative is demonstrated to proactively diagnose and resolve problems.
- Productive work habits are consistently displayed.
