The Serology Lab Technician is responsible for testing blood and other samples for viral and bacterial disease by detecting antibodies (AB) or antigens (AG). Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Laboratory skills, with experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests and operating lab instruments
  • General science background
  • Attention to detail and organized with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Solid communication skills- written and verbal
  • Proficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written direction
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Personal computer skills, including strong typing ability and proficient use of Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • 2- or 4-year degree in science-related field preferred.
  • Prior lab experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and runs lab tests.
  • Reads and releases test results
  • Collect and build samples to load.
  • Responsible for completing the Coggins Federal forms as required by the USDA.
  • The test performed may be more routine and less complex
  • Exercises judgment in evaluating and reporting results
  • Reconcile pending and queue lists daily
  • Performs equipment maintenance and troubleshooting activities
  • Comply with all Quality Assurance policies and protocols
  • Awareness of quality control and calibration
  • Consult with senior peers on non-complex tasks to learn through experience.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
