About The Position

The Sergeant is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, and property through active patrol, incident response, and on-scene leadership. This role carries the added responsibility of lawfully carrying and maintaining a firearm, exercising sound judgment in high-risk situations, and providing operational support and guidance to Security Officers in accordance with training, company policy, and applicable laws.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Required.
Working knowledge of applicable local and federal laws.
Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to work in a smoke-filled casino environment.
Strong customer service orientation.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to engage and influence across all organizational levels.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercising sound judgment, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze situations, evaluate alternatives, and make sound recommendations.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to work a flexible and irregular schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
Must be able to pass Title 31 training.
One (1) year of armed security experience or two (2) years of unarmed security, military, or law enforcement experience required.
Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency, if applicable to perform the essential job functions
Current and Valid CLEET Phase 4-armed license.
Active and Valid driver’s license

Prior experience in surveillance, security, law enforcement, or military service is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain the safety and well-being of guests and employees through active patrol, observation, and rapid response to incidents and emergencies.
Serve as a visible armed security presence and first point of escalation for Security Officers during routine operations and critical incidents.
Carry a firearm in accordance with company policy, state regulations, and training requirements, maintaining readiness and secure control at all times.
Exercise sound judgment and restraint in high-risk or volatile situations, utilizing force only as authorized, appropriate, and as a last resort.
Respond immediately to incidents requiring an armed presence, including threats to life, violent behavior, or escalated security events.
Provide guidance, direction, and on-scene leadership to Security Officers during incidents, investigations, and emergency responses.
Conduct patrols of all areas of the property, including interior, exterior, and assigned vehicle patrol areas, identifying safety hazards, suspicious activity, and security breaches.
Communicate clearly and effectively via two-way radio and other communication systems to coordinate responses and relay critical information.
Provide guest assistance, including directions and escorts, and regularly escort money and employees in money-handling positions.
Monitors the activity of armed and unarmed security officers on their assigned shift to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
Provides leadership and direction to security staff in the absence of the shift supervisor.
