About The Position

MDVIP is building the organic growth program from the ground up. Technical SEO, content strategy, local search, and commercial keyword performance all sit within this team. We measure success in new member enrollments, not traffic and impressions. This is the technical execution engine of the SEO program. You’ll own technical and on-page SEO across mdvip.com, run the day-to-day work in Google Search Console and our SEO suite, and work with engineering and content to get issues fixed and opportunities shipped. The site runs on Drupal. We use Yext for local listings infrastructure. You’ll need to know how to work within engineering constraints, how to prioritize a backlog, and how to tell the difference between a technical issue that’s hurting members and one that can wait. You’ll report directly to the VP of Organic Growth and work closely with the Director of Web Product, Content Manager, and engineering. Requirements

  • 3-5 years in SEO with demonstrated technical depth.
  • Experience working with engineering: clear tickets, scoped fixes, healthy pushback.
  • CMS experience (Drupal strongly preferred).
  • Strong GSC and Screaming Frog (or equivalent crawler) proficiency.
  • Healthcare or YMYL experience, or a clear understanding of why it matters.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Search Console, Screaming Frog (or equivalent), and at least one major SEO suite (Semrush, Ahrefs).
  • Familiarity with Drupal or similar CMS platforms required.

Nice To Haves

  • Local SEO experience, especially with listing management platforms.
  • Familiarity with Yext.
  • Experience managing SEO through a site redesign.
  • Python or basic scripting for SEO data work.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical SEO: crawl health, indexation, site speed, structured data, canonicalization, internal linking.
  • Maintain and improve GSC reporting, flagging regressions before they become problems.
  • Run keyword research and search intent analysis to inform the content roadmap.
  • Audit and clean up technical debt: redirect chains, orphaned pages, crawl waste.
  • Work with engineering on sprint scoping for SEO fixes and improvements.
  • Support local SEO via Yext: listings accuracy, physician profile completeness, geo performance.
  • Monitor algorithm updates and assess their actual impact on MDVIP.
  • Build reporting that connects SEO activity to member acquisition, not just organic sessions.
