SEO & Content Specialist

Reflex Media, Inc., (Multiple States)
$75,000 - $115,000Remote

About The Position

Seeking.com is looking for an SEO & Content Specialist to manage the end-to-end execution of Seeking’s organic content engine. This hands-on role involves editing HTML for on-page SEO, writing and publishing content, coordinating external partners, and implementing strategies to improve brand visibility across traditional search, AI Overviews, and answer engines. The role is open at two levels: SEO & Content Specialist and SEO & Content Strategist, with the latter having broader scope and autonomy. The ideal candidate is a builder who can directly implement SEO fixes and create content, rather than just delegating to an agency. The role requires a strong understanding of on-page SEO, content creation, and AI-driven search surfaces. Collaboration with various internal teams and external partners is essential for success.

Requirements

  • Hands-on SEO and content experience at a consumer brand, ideally a consumer subscription, marketplace, mobile-first, or dating/social platform, with published work and measurable results.
  • Working fluency in HTML and CSS, sufficient to make on-page SEO edits directly in a CMS.
  • Strong grasp of traditional SEO fundamentals: on-page optimization, keyword research, internal linking, and technical basics (crawlability, indexation, page speed, structured data).
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone and format across different content types.
  • Working fluency in AEO and GEO, understanding schema markup, structured data, brand-entity strategy, and how AI answer engines select sources.
  • Hands-on experience with GA4, Search Console, and at least one paid SEO platform (SEMrush, Ahrefs, or comparable).
  • Working knowledge of WordPress sufficient to maintain and update production pages, and light front-end fluency to read and adjust HTML, CSS, and component-level changes.
  • AI fluency; experience using tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or Cowork in a daily workflow for research, drafting, structuring, and QA.
  • Ability to audit Seeking's presence across search and AI surfaces, identify issues, and ship fixes quickly.
  • Operator’s discipline: ability to ship on time, perform tight QA, maintain clean naming and metadata, and document work.
  • For SEO & Content Specialist: 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in SEO, content, or organic growth at a consumer brand or agency.
  • For SEO & Content Strategist: 4 to 7+ years of hands-on experience in SEO and content, ideally including time at a consumer subscription business, DTC brand, or category-defining consumer brand.
  • For SEO & Content Strategist: Proven track record leading organic growth programs combining on-page execution, editorial planning, and AI-search visibility with measurable business impact.
  • For SEO & Content Strategist: Comfort owning or contributing to an editorial calendar across multiple content channels and directing agency/freelance partners.
  • For SEO & Content Strategist: Mentorship and review capabilities for on-page work, content quality, and discovery strategy.
  • Direct experience optimizing for zero-click results, featured snippets, AI Overviews, and answer-engine citations at a consumer brand.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience considered.
  • A portfolio of published SEO or content work with measurable results.
  • Direct experience partnering with or working inside an outside marketing, SEO, or content agency.
  • Experience leading or supporting a CMS migration, particularly off WordPress.
  • Familiarity with leading or contributing to a structured AEO/GEO program.
  • Exposure to reputation and review programs (Trustpilot, Glassdoor, app stores).
  • Interest in dating, lifestyle, or consumer subscription brands, and a point of view on how AI is changing consumer search behavior.

Responsibilities

  • Edit HTML and CMS templates directly to implement on-page SEO best practices, including title tags, meta descriptions, header hierarchy, schema markup, internal linking, image alt text, and URL structure.
  • Run technical SEO health checks (crawlability, indexation, page speed, broken links, redirects) and either fix them or coordinate fixes.
  • Maintain WordPress-based properties, ensuring clean, semantic, and shippable HTML.
  • Implement structured data, schema markup, and entity tagging for better search engine and AI answer engine readability and citation.
  • Write, edit, and publish organic content such as blog posts, landing pages, FAQs, category pages, and pillar hubs, aligning with content pillars and audience segments.
  • Ship content directly when speed, voice, or judgment require it.
  • Contribute to and maintain the editorial calendar across owned channels, aligning with brand campaigns, product launches, and cultural moments.
  • Identify content gaps, refresh opportunities, and topical authority angles, and develop them into published assets.
  • Develop entity-driven content strategies to provide clear, authoritative, structured answers for AI systems.
  • Run keyword research, intent expansion, and competitive discovery analysis using GA4, Search Console, SEMrush, and Ahrefs.
  • Structure content and markup to earn visibility on AI-powered discovery surfaces like AI Overviews, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).
  • Increase brand presence across Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and other LLM-powered discovery surfaces.
  • Stay current on emerging discoverability tactics and recommend practical, tested solutions.
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for external agency and freelance partners supporting content and SEO work.
  • Manage deliverable timelines, feedback loops, and quality checks for agency-produced content and SEO work.
  • Track and report on key KPIs including organic traffic, rankings, indexation, engagement, and AI-search visibility weekly and monthly.
  • Translate performance data into next-cycle priorities and flag risks to the appropriate internal team.
  • Partner with Creative, Brand, Product, Legal, and other marketing functions to ensure timely and on-brand content and on-page changes.
  • Support ad hoc organic growth initiatives, such as reputation and review monitoring.

Benefits

  • Base salary: $75,000 to $115,000, commensurate with experience and level.
  • Performance and outcome-dependent incentive plan, with profit share tied to demonstrated value creation.
  • Full-time, exempt, fully remote within the US.
  • Health, dental, vision, 401(k), and a standard benefits package.
  • Direct exposure to the Director, CMO, and Co-CEOs.
  • Clear growth path to Senior SEO & Content Strategist, Content Lead, or Manager scope.
