About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems seeks an Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) System Engineering & Integration (SEI) Lead - Systems Engineering Manager 3. This position will support the SDS Division and its multiple programs in Roy, Utah and report to the director of System Integration & Sustainment. This position may offer a competitive relocation package. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 8 years of related experience; 6 years of related experience with a master’s degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access
  • Active U.S. Government Secret clearance with a background investigation close date within the past 6 years or in CE.
  • Direct experience in major systems engineering design or integration activity experience (ex: SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, System Test and/or System Activation)
  • Experience presenting to internal and/or external customers and stakeholders to drive outcomes

  • 3+ years of leadership/program management experience
  • Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) and/or Work Package Lead (WPL).
  • Demonstrated Functional Management experience.

  • Prior experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing pace.

Responsibilities

  • Stand up the IFC-SEI Team within the System Integration & Sustainment Directorate and lead IFC Strategic vision and Level 1 & 2 requirement derivation.
  • Coordinate the development and execution of the IFCs support major milestone events across the multiple program Business Units.
  • Identify the system functions for incremental delivery of a significant development program and define the specific configuration of hardware and software elements required for these functions along with the program timing.
  • Support the evolution of multiple products beginning with an overarching Strategic IFC Plan, supporting Detailed IFC Plans and schedules that define the development effort.
  • Evolve and execute the IFC plan, which addresses all design components of a program (i.e., architecture, hardware, and software) as well as functional activities (i.e., test, quality checks, logistics support) that support implementation into the ground and flight test phases of a program.
  • Guide the development effort of an IFC until it culminates in certification that the integrated set of products meets its functional and performance requirements and is ready to be released for its intended use as identified in the IFC system certificate package/certificate (e.g., ground test, flight test, developmental and/or operational test, and evaluation, etc.).
  • Grow technical breadth in Systems Engineering across a broad portfolio of mission threads and be at the forefront of evolving traditional Systems Engineering rigor into lean agile, model-based frameworks.
  • Control Account Management and Risk Management duties.
