About The Position

At Radiometer, a Danaher operating company, the Sensor Scientist, R&D is responsible for complex sensor research and development activities, including novel sensor and membrane designs that support product development and innovation efforts. This role provides analysis, testing, and evaluation of complex sensor and system designs, sensor manufacturing processes and techniques, and patentable concepts. Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant experience within the Medical Device or IVD industry is required.
  • Expertise in statistical analysis software (JMP/Minitab, etc.) and/or methods is vital.
  • Prior experience in biomedical or blood gas sensor design and development within R&D.
  • Strong Problem Solving skills and ability to get plans into actions is required.
  • Advanced Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Engineering Sciences, or equivalent; relevant experience may contribute toward the degree requirement.

  • Expertise with electrochemistry.

Responsibilities

  • Be a key participant of an interdisciplinary R&D team to develop novel sensor and membrane designs to support product development and innovation efforts.
  • Provide analysis, testing, and evaluation of complex sensor and system designs, sensor manufacturing processes and techniques, and patentable concepts.
  • Mentor and coach junior-level scientists.
  • Provide robust design of experiments, interpretation, and presentation of data by creating clear and concise summary reports.
  • Execute verification and validation of sensor constructions and provide technical expertise to support manufacturing.
